Al-Hogail discusses with the Chinese Minister of Housing enhancing cooperation and investment in building technology and sustainability

Today, His Excellency the Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, Chairman of the Housing Program Committee, Mr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, held discussions in Beijing with the Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Ni Hong. The meeting aimed to enhance cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China in areas of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to China, Mr. Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in housing policy development and programs. This included exchanging experiences and practices in urban planning, sustainable urban development, and investment in construction technology. They also explored investment opportunities for real estate projects and infrastructure development within residential communities.

Al-Hogail and his Chinese counterpart reviewed successful experiences in providing housing solutions and increasing citizens' homeownership opportunities. They also exchanged expertise in urban management and the implementation of best practices in this regard.

The Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing affirmed during the meeting that the current collaboration between both countries is an extension of the historic visit of the Chinese President in December 2022 and the agreements signed between both sides. He emphasized the complete agreement between the leaderships of both countries on the importance of enhancing their partnership and aligning Vision 2030 with the Belt and Road Initiative. This alignment will positively impact the aspirations and status of both Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China on the global economic stage.

Al-Hogail added that they are working to strengthen fruitful cooperation between both countries in various fields. This includes urban development and attracting the best Chinese construction companies to benefit from their expertise in increasing residential units in different regions of the Kingdom. The goal is to achieve the targets of the housing program, which is one of the programs of Vision 2030, by providing diverse housing and financing options for citizens. He praised the Chinese experience in this field.

The Chinese Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation with Saudi Arabia and their eagerness to transfer the Chinese experience, which has helped them in building and completing housing projects, to the Kingdom. He noted that China has benefited from its advanced capabilities in modern construction solutions and technologies for urban development and management. He highlighted the level of bilateral relations between both countries and their aspirations for further coordination and cooperation in the future to achieve sustainable development goals in all vital sectors.

It is worth mentioning that Minister Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail began an official visit to the Chinese capital, Beijing, where he met with senior officials in the Chinese government, heads of construction companies, and Chinese banks. The purpose of the visit was to enhance the partnership between the Kingdom and China in the construction, building, and real estate development sectors. His Excellency witnessed the signing of agreements between the National Housing Company and several Chinese companies to construct large-scale residential projects in the Kingdom, with the aim of providing more housing units and financing solutions.
